Hola Amigos!! here´s update number 3 :)
First and foremost... that poop was freaking excelent yesterday!!! hahah. I first tried to use the bathroom at the internet cafe I emailed you from yesterday, and that was a huge mistake!! That thing was horribly gross. the guy had a sign on the wall that said you could pay him 5 pesos to use the bathroom...but when I went up to pay the guy, he looked at my and waved his hand as if there was no fee. I was thinking, that´s kinda strange... but then I opened the door! For only having half a door on the thing, it was amazing how much it still stunk. You´d think it´d air out after a little while. There was also no seat on the toilet, so I decided to squeeze a pee out so that I didn´t offend someone by not using their free/gross bathroom.
...Off to El Capitan!!....
The next spot I tried was this cool little restaurant called El Capitan. I sat down, ordered a beer, and quickly asked for the bathroom. the guy pointed to the back of the building, past all the cooks and the outdoor kitchen and across the yard. It actually wasn´t bad!! I did my thing, and quickly had memories about my last trip to Tulum where I clogged this toilet that had basically no water flow at all while in this tiny little restaurant. Remembering how I tried over and over to flush the thing with no luck... and then just leaving it for the next unlucky guest. This time, the water pressure was good and my poo flushed! Back on top of the world!!! hahah.
Anywho... enough poo. I ate some delicious fish with garlic, had another beer and wandered down the street. I stopped into a market to buy more beer for me and my camping buddies, but the lady informed me that since it was sunday they stop selling beer at 2pm. It was 2:03. I smiled, left, and wandered down the street checking out shops etc. Just as I was about to get a taxi, I stopped into another smaller shop and decided to try to buy beer again. I brought a 12 pack up to the counter, the kid looked at me... looked out the door real sketchy, gave me the nod, and I covertly bought beer. Double bagged.. tossed the kid a tip, and scooted out the door. CERVESA!!!
Headed back to my hammock, and started to prepare for rain. the skies were dark, and I could feel some sprinkles. I covered most of my stuff with a plastic bag, set my beer by my side, wrapped myself up in my home made poncho and wool blanket, and just enjoyed the light rain while sitting under our awesome natural canapy. After a little while, the rain stopped, and we all started hanging out again. Guitars and drums showed up, we all started drinking and jamming. I suprised them with some music... they didn´t know I could play. It was fun :)
After that, I went to go get some food and ran into Reyes and Andy.. they guy I met the night before. We all pitched in and purchased another case of beer, and just hung out drinking with the whole crew that runs the campground. Turns out, Andy´s got one of those cool bikes from Nacho Libre (I had been so intrigued by these bikes when I was here last time). He rides around with a cooler and his little dog Travis in the front. Such a cool bike! Some day... Some day :)
I then went to get some food at the campground next door. It was two for one Mojitos. I had 6 (ahah). Went back to my hammock to sleep, and noticed that my poncho and my wool blanket were gone! Sucks because was just about to go to bed. I then wandered around and found that some kids had thought my hammock was part of the campground (probably because it is such a cool hammock and all... I can totally understand. haha). So they were cold and took my blankets to stay warm on the beach. I only ended up finding the poncho... so I was a little bummed. However, when I got back to my hammock, there was magically another much larger fleece blanket there. Still confused about that one, but didn´t question it too much. Wrapped myself up real good and slept like a baby. The blanket smelled like a girl, so I wasn´t too worried about the history of the blanket.
woke up this morning... it is overcast. I went swimming, took some more photos, and then packed my stuff up. Said my goodbyes to the birdman y familia. Wished Reyes a happy birthday, and then caught a taxi to town. I just found a cheap spot to stay for 220 pesos (roughly $18/night). My rooms still being cleaned so I decided to wander to a ¨day of the dead¨ store as well as the internet cafe.
couple more days and i´m back. Even though the beach is kinda rough living at times, it was hard to leave. Although, my brain needs a rest from trying to communicate with people from so many different countries. I realized that I know extremely little spanish. A true gringo. Now, where´s the cervesa?!! hahah
Love you all!!
